Research funding

The KFKI promotes application-oriented and practice-relevant coastal research. The basis for the funding of research projects of the KFKI consists of the two elements KFKI Research Framework and "Funding Announcement of the BMBF. The research framework identifies the existing knowledge gaps that need to be closed in order to fulfill the tasks of the state and federal administrations active in coastal engineering and provides the content framework. The funding announcement concretizes the research needs and defines the formal framework of a possible funding. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) provides the research funds for the KFKI research projects, which are handled by Project Management Jülich (PtJ).
